This kit is based on our GET™ Spin Columns, spin columns with a high binding affinity for DNA.    GET™ AGAROSE DNA method involves release of nucleic acid fragments from gel pieces followed by capture of nucleic acids on the GET™ Spin Columns, washing, and elution of the clean nucleic acid fragments in a suitable buffer. The GET™ AGAROSE DNA  kits are supplied with enough reagents for 50 or 100 preps.

Features

  • Extract DNA fragments from agarose gels
  • Rapid DNA isolation
  • DNA ready for downstream applications, including ligations
  • Suitable for 100-20,000bp fragments
  • Compatible with TAE and TBE buffer gels

Applications

  • Isolation of DNA fragments from agarose gels.
  • Cleaning and removing of contaminants from DNA samples

Agarose II has a low melting and gelling temperature compared to standard agaroses.  The low melting temperature allows for the recovery of undamaged nucleic acids below the denaturation temperature.  The low gelling temperature ensures that the agarose will be in a liquid state at a temperature range where in-gel manipulations can be performed without prior extraction from the agarose slice.  Specifications
  • Moisture: ≤ 7%
  • Ash: ≤ 0.4%
  • EEO (electroendosmosis): ≤ 0.12
  • Sulfate: ≤ 0.12%
  • Clarity 1.5% (NTU): ≤ 4
  • Gel Strength 1.5% (g/cm2): ≥ 500
  • Gelling Temperature 1.5% (ºC): 24-28
  • Melting Temperature 1.5% (ºC): ≤ 65.5
  • DNase/ RNase Activity: None Detected
  • DNA Resolution ≥1000bp: Finely resolved
  • Gel background: Very low
